Profile of Women Entrepreneurs in Brazil’s New Axis – 2025

North, Northeast, and Central-West Brazil

In 2025, 1,072 women participated in Efeito Furacão. They bake cakes, sew, do nails, create jewelry from Amazonian seeds, and run small grocery stores in the sertão. Almost all of them work on their own. Almost all of them are outside the radar of those who typically receive investment in Brazil.

This report tells what happened to them.

We followed each woman at the beginning and at the end of the program, comparing each participant with herself. In just over three months:

Revenue increased by 8.6% — in a period too short for this to be explained by chance
Nearly half gained access to credit for the first time in the life of their business
9 out of 10 began to trust their own decisions — up from 7 out of 10 before the program

And this was not a short-lived effect. Six months and one year later, 82.8% remained at the same revenue level or above it. What they learned about money stayed with them.

More than numbers, this report is about people: the woman from Pará who turns cacao into chocolate, the woman from Acre who reopened her restaurant just days after completing the program, and the woman from Alagoas who became a formal business owner during the course.

They prove one simple thing: what was missing was never capability — it was access.
